Project Background
This large-scale thermal power plant in Texas operates continuously under high-temperature and high-load working conditions. Previously deployed imported conventional mixed bed resins suffered from thermal degradation, insufficient structural stability and gradual performance attenuation during long-term service at 90–120℃ condensate temperatures. Unstable water quality led to intermittent boiler scaling, increased equipment maintenance frequency and elevated operational costs across the power station.
On-Site Challenges
1. Standard resins failed to sustain long-duration high-temperature operation, resulting in short service cycles and frequent replacement downtime.
2. Trace organic contaminants in condensate gradually fouled resin media, causing rising bed pressure drop and unstable system operation.
3. Fluctuations in effluent resistivity compromised the operational stability of boiler and steam turbine systems.
Customized Solution
The site adopted our customized mixed bed solution combining YZ001 high-temperature resistant cation resin and YZ002 high-stability anion resin for full-flow condensate polishing. Featuring uniform particle size distribution and superior thermal stability, the optimized resin ratio effectively eliminated performance degradation under high-temperature operating conditions. We also delivered full technical support, including on-site loading guidance and professional regeneration parameter calibration.
Application Results
1. The mixed bed consistently delivers effluent resistivity above 18.2 MΩ·cm, fully complying with stringent American power industry boiler feedwater standards.
2. Resin service lifespan was extended from 8 months to over 20 months, substantially cutting procurement and routine maintenance costs.
3. The resin bed maintains stable pressure drop with zero flow channeling, enabling long-term, trouble-free operation of the plant’s water treatment system.
